It's a simple truth; yet I seem to struggle so often to live by it. I wear myself to the point of bitter exhaustion, trying to do everything I think I need to do. But I need to remember that only one thing is necessary.
“But the Lord answered and said to her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.’ ”
~Luke 10:41-42 (emphasis mine)
And I need to heed the advice of my Lord to His disciples while He was on earth:
“...‘Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.’...”
~Mark 6:31
I could quote countless other Scriptures here. But that would miss the point. I'm not trying to write the best blog post on the Internet. I'm simply trying to share what the Lord is showing me. And I don't want to wear myself out finding verses about rest. ☺ The important thing is seeking Him!
