Christ, my Life

Wow!  It's been a long time since I posted anything.  Today I uncovered this poem in my papers and polished it up, so I thought I'd share it here.

Christ, my Life

This is my glory,
 This is my plea:
Jesus, my Savior, bore
 God’s wrath for me.

This is my comfort:
 The One that I love
Ever lives, interceding
 With the Father above.

This is my rest,
 On this I will stand:
Before time began
He wrote me on His hand!

Here is my solace
 In darkest of night:
He never will leave me
Tho’ I can’t see the light.

Tho’ all my friends leave me,
 He ever is near
He’ll never forsake me
 So I shall not fear.

This is my strength
In the midst of the fray:
His Spirit is in me,
 Giving strength for the day.

This is my future:
 Soon He will come
And take me to dwell
 Forever in His home!
